The Canisius Lonergan Collection

An initiative of Fr. Peter Beer S.J. with the aid of Fr. F.E.Crowe S.J. of  the Toronto Lonergan Centre and Fr. T. Daly S.J. of Jesuit Theological College, Melbourne, the Collection was established in 1975 through a donation from Dr. J.C. Beer.

Its librarian for 30 years has been Jo Wickens. It has been supported by Fr. Michael Shields S.J. and Dr Daniel Monsour of the Toronto Lonergan Centre

In 2012 Dr. Rohan Curnow and Fr.Peter Beer S.J conceived the notion of moving the Canisius Lonergan Collection  from Pymble to the Veech library. On behalf of the Australian Province of the Society of Jesus, the collection is on permanent loan to the Veech Library.
